Hello Sweet Friends and happy June! Can you believe it's already June! I promised a blog post and a new project but I've been so busy finishing up and shipping custom orders that I haven't gotten around to posting. I'm really excited about this one though and I want to show you the whole process from start to finish. I hope it turns out at least close to what I have in my head. That's always the goal right?
I'll also be listing all of the supplies and links if possible at the end. I am absolutely in love with the Alessio Miniatures line of doors and windows. They are so much different than what I've been used to getting for so many years and they paint and stain beautifully! I tell you what, laser cutting is the way to go. It's just perfection.
So my Dad and I worked on this project together and he cut the base out for me after showing him my inspiration photos (Thank you Pinterest). I've been busy painting windows, the door and trying to choose a wallpaper. I think I've finally found the perfect one and I can't wait to get it in stock soon as I can put this all together. The house is cut from MDF. I would rather find something lighter weight to use but it's sturdy and very straight so it's hard to get away from it. The wood I used to buy would sometimes be warped and it just made it much more difficult and sometimes ruined a project. If you have any other suggestions on wood though, I'm open to trying new things.
Here's a closeup of these beautiful windows, there are actually three on this tiny house. I couldn't get enough. Sadly the door I wanted was out of stock so I just went with an old basic (found here) that I love and you can't go wrong with it either.
If you're wondering about my lines, well.... you'll see. After I finish about 2000 shingles and I'm just praying it turns out the way I want it to. Lucky for me I enjoy tedious jobs like that and laying so many shingles is actually something I enjoy doing. I'd rather lay shingles than to paint a window ANY DAY! For some reason I hate painting windows. The shingles I'm using are these I use them for everything and they also stain, pickle, and paint beautifully.
Hope you're all doing well and enjoying your own Summer projects. If you are working on something, tag me on Instagram so I can see it. My Instagram link is @jggypsyheartminis and I'd love to see what all you're working on. I have so many things I want to get finished up, started and learn this year. There's just not enough time to do it all.
Wishing you all a wonderful week xx
